Energy /IT Solutions Analyst II | Information Technology
What your day would be like:
You'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our critical AMI systems. Your day will involve supporting and maintaining the Advanced Infrastructure(AMI) Head-end systems. This role ensures the reliability, performance, and integrity of the system used to manage smart meters, collect meter data, and interface with MDMS, GIS and Outage Management system. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, develop and implement solutions, and ensure the seamless operation of Meter 2 Cash systems
You are responsible for:
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in AMI Head End System (Landis+Gyr Command Center, Honeywell Connexo, ITRON)
Monitoring of critical daily activities to ensure timely/accurate delivery of AMI Data for downstream systems
Coordinate and support Application Patches/upgrades, Security patching and maintenance activities
Coordinate with IT, MDMS, Meter Infrastructure, Field Services and Vendors to resolve integration and data issues
Analyze performance metrices, identify bottlenecks and suggest system optimizations
Maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures/knowledge articles
Participate in incident response, root cause analysis and preventative maintenance efforts
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and regulatory standards for AMI systems
Provide on0call support and respond to system alerts outside business hours , as needed
Collaborating with internal teams to ensure reliable data and system functionality.
Supporting projects that align with strategic IT goals.

Minimum Requirements
Energy /IT Solutions Analyst II | Information Technology
Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field
PLUS two (2) years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
Requires working technical knowledge gained through experience within a job area or system.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications
Knowledge of safety policies, practices and procedures; basic knowledge of computer science and/or engineering; generation, transmission and distribution system design, operations, and procedures; systems software and database administration; network and workstation technologies; technical issues related to energy management systems and applications; software, hardware and telecommunication; systems for real-time data collection and exchange. Skill in developing and writing technical documentation; evaluating and testing emerging technologies
SQL (Structured Query Language); statistics, mechanics, and physics; technical writing; testing different @types of equipment, such as flow meters; Microsoft office, including Word and Excel.
Ability to troubleshoot Windows and Linux environments; provided off hours support as part of an on-call rotation; work well on a team; works well with customers/clients; problem solve; thinks innovatively; gives high level of attention to detail
Major Accountabilities
1) Applies technical knowledge to process, provides support with, and solves broad software support requests within the energy management system (EMS), the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, and other electric control center automation systems
2) Utilizes approved EMS and SCADA support delivery processes and tools providing input on identified flaws or adjustments
3) Participates in mid-level troubleshooting across most aspects of the SCADA system and leads basic level troubleshooting
4) Provides advanced service and implementation support (i.e., development, operation, and maintenance of operating systems software, network and/or configuration management and database activities for real-time computer systems, develops application programs for scheduling, monitoring, control, accounting, and analysis)
5) Develops statistics and performance reports in own practice area
6) Independently reviews and verifies low risk changes, and escalates as necessary
7) Migrates and deploys moderately complex solutions
8) Participates in on-call rotation to support operations and maintenance of the SCADA system during off hours
9) Suggests improvements that mitigate risks and create a more reliable and efficient electrical grid
10) May help train and assists entry level analysts

Home Based: Home based employees primarily work from their home offices and come into an APS facility on an as-needed basis.
*Employees are expected to reside in Arizona (or New Mexico for Four Corners-based employees).
